Tusker Acquires Fortress SRM to Expand Cybersecurity Services

Tusker, a Chicago-based full-service technology solutions provider, has announced the acquisition of Fortress SRM, a Cleveland-based cybersecurity firm, for an undisclosed amount. The deal, finalized on September 2, 2026, adds nearly 50 cybersecurity professionals to Tusker’s workforce and enhances its service offerings with new capabilities, including a 24/7 Security Operations Center (SOC). This acquisition also marks Tusker's expansion into the Ohio Valley, establishing its sixth regional hub.

Fortress SRM, founded in 2018, specializes in a range of cybersecurity services, including security consulting, virtual Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) leadership, managed security, incident response, and digital forensics. The firm has built a reputation for delivering high-quality cybersecurity solutions to clients across Ohio, northern Michigan, and Wisconsin. The addition of Fortress SRM's expertise allows Tusker to strengthen its cybersecurity capabilities significantly, aligning with the growing demand for comprehensive security solutions in an increasingly complex threat landscape.

The acquisition is part of Tusker's strategic initiative to broaden its technology service offerings and geographic reach. Since its inception as an IT hardware distributor, Tusker has evolved into a full-stack technology provider, now employing over 400 individuals and operating in multiple regional hubs including Chicago, Boston, Green Bay, Duluth, Eau Claire, and now Cleveland.
