Codis To Acquire Catalent's Nottingham, UK Facility to Create Europe's Leading End-to-End Spray Dry Capability

Codis, a global contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), has announced an agreement to acquire Catalent's facility in Nottingham, UK, for an undisclosed amount. The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2026, pending customary closing conditions. This acquisition is poised to enhance Codis’ capabilities in spray drying and solid dose development, positioning the company as a leading provider of integrated spray dry solutions in Europe.

The Nottingham facility, which has over two decades of experience in oral solid dose (OSD) development and small-scale commercial manufacturing, will significantly bolster Codis' particle engineering expertise. This strategic move complements Codis' existing commercial-scale GEA PSD-4 facility in Haverhill, UK, which is currently undergoing expansion with a new commercial spray dryer set to be validated in 2027. The integration of these two sites is expected to create a streamlined pathway for clients, offering comprehensive solutions from development through to clinical supply and final oral dosage forms.

Codis specializes in advanced particle engineering solutions, including amorphous solid dispersions (ASDs) and commercial spray drying, catering to various sectors such as pharmaceuticals, consumer health, and nutraceuticals.
